[Play Synopsis]
The Child Dreams follows a boy and his mother as they flee their shattered homeland after his father’s murder. Their journey winds through fear, indifference, and false promises, ending in a surreal port of dead children. A poetic and deeply compassionate work, the play exposes how innocence is crushed not only by violence, but by the cold machinery of those who look away.
[Design]
This site-specific design for The Child Dreams transforms a Red Hook warehouse into a fractured, dreamlike world of exile and memory. Ship-like platforms drift through shifting ground, echoing themes of loss, displacement, and spiritual tension. Embracing the raw architecture of the warehouse, the design invites an intimate, ethically charged encounter with Levin’s poetic, brutal vision.
